Oracle at Delphi Priestess Ceramic Hand Pipe

This ceramic hand pipe depicts a nude woman, a priestess of the Pythia, or Oracle of Delphi, lying on her back. She holds the bowl of this pipe above her head as an offering to the god Apollo in exchange for his wisdom. Perhaps those who smoke of this bowl may find a bit of this Greek god’s wisdom, as well. The pipe has a perforated bowl bottom that works as a built-in screen. Measures 9 inches (22.86 cm) long.
